Veterinary Services
We provide complete care for cats, dogs, and exotic pets. Our veterinarians offer a wealth of experience, knowledge and compassion to our patients and their owners.
In Clinic X-Ray and Ultrasound
State of the art digital X-Ray available in our hospital allows for rapid and accurate diagnoses for both skeletal and soft tissue problems. We also provide in house Diagnostic Ultrasound to allow us to visualize internal organs in a non-invasive way. These modalities help us quickly and effectively diagnose and treat many injuries and ailments.
Dentistry
We perform routine dental cleaning and prophylaxis as well as extractions and dental surgery. Our top of the line dental X-ray system is both accurate and extremely beneficial in diagnosing hidden dental issues. We routinely use dental freezing blocks and post operative pain medications to make the procedure as painless as possible. Keeping your pet’s teeth clean can reduce the chances of oral disease, heart disease, liver problems, and blood infections and increase the lifespan of your pet.
Rehabilitation Therapy
Our Rehabilitation Therapy Team includes Dr. Karen MacMillan, a certified Rehabilitation therapist, Sue Van Evra, a Physical Therapist who has a Diploma in Canine Rehabilitation Therapy and their veterinary medical assistant, Shelby. Procedures that are offered include manual therapy and massage, therapeutic laser, e-stim, strength and core training, post surgical rehabilitation, puppy evaluation, pain management, palliative and senior care. Dogs with mobility issues or who are painful will benefit greatly from their skilled hands.
Behaviour Consultations
Many pets suffer from behavioral problems. They are one of the leading causes of surrender of pets to animal shelters. We offer insight into the root of the problems, solutions that will work for your family and follow up to help solve the problem. Starting with helping you socialize and train your puppy and kitten, through assisting in the management of aging and cognitive dysfunction in senior pets; we are there to make your pet companionship as rewarding as possible.
In Hospital Laboratory
Our state of the art, in clinic laboratory allows us to give fast, accurate blood test results, allowing rapid diagnosis and treatment. Routine and emergency blood test results are available within minutes. Our pre-anesthetic blood panels make surgical procedures safer for your pet. Sick cats and dogs benefit from appropriate blood tests and can be diagnosed and treated in a timely manner.
House Calls
If you or your pets are reluctant or unable to visit the clinic, call us to book a house call visit. We can provide all of the basic out-patient procedures safely in your home, from routine visits to end of life services.
Orthopedic Surgery
If your pet needs orthopedic surgery such as a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) for a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL tear) or to repair a Luxating Patella (MPL), our locum orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Tom Picherak, will come to our Hospital. He has performed many of these procedures with positive outcomes. Having him perform surgery at our clinic is more convenient, more personal and less costly than a visit to a referral hospital in Calgary.
